He Wood Ocean Wet Wood. Dsquared2

Perfumer: Daphne Bugey and Alberto Morillas.
Countains transparent marine accord, ambergris, artemisia, violet leaves, violet blossom, vetiver, cedar, patchouli, tonka bean and musk.

Same bottle as its older brother but this time is much lighter and the juice inside it's light blue.

Now this new perfume puzzles me.
It's a strange yet beautiful mixture of violet, vetiver and powdery yet airy accords.
It could be easily branded as "Air" (from Kenzo) if this perfume wouldn't exist.

"Wet Wood" is rather minimal: you will detect the airy freshness from the original old brother without the wet aquatic accord. Instead, you'll get here a rare yet uplifting dimension of freshness, nearly industrial, ozonic, pure and being honest, asepthic, just like a quiet walk through the sea side with no sound and no smell, neither flower blossoms scent in the air nor seaweed; just a fresh wind stroking your face with a litte trail of ocean breeze made for a computer.

You get the violet leaf and the violet blossom depurated to the maximum tending to become as a slightly turquoise talc powder-like scent with a light touch of salty vetiver and splashes of patchouli and musk in the drydown.

The result is rather fascinating. There's freshness surrounded of a salty vetiver-like-talc powder.
Weird right?
It is indeed, but worth sample it, just to enjoy the olfative experience.
On the other hand, it is a very timid perfume with an lower average long lasting and neutral sillage.

If you are looking for an excellent aquatic, for the same price, I would rather buy "Kenzo pour Homme" or "Bvlgary Aqva" both masterpieces with a much better projection and pressence.
Oh, well. What can I do?. I always feel weak regarding classics.

Flowers are for men.

I can't help to talk again about this new trend going on currently, based on "the new man" and the perfumer's interpretation of this new social specimen breaking boundaries in the masculine perfumery world.

I'd lie if I said that from my personal and particular point of view, all this has benefitted me on a certain level because now I could wear socially certain perfumes with confidence when before, I would not dare to do it.

Knowing that most of the masculine new floral perfumes are always based on the same boring concept, (sticky-powdery-definitively feminine), I start to wonder:
Why can I not wear a women's fragrance which actually does smell not even remotely as feminine as for example "Dior Homme" or "Kenzo Power"?
Meanwhile I'm still waiting for "the release", that one which will surprise me pleasantly, but no joy so far.
Iris, petit grain and violet. Is there not anything new under the sun, please?
I am getting to the point where I start to believe that perfumer's creativity is starting to vanish.

Summer is around the corner and I keep looking for the perfect fresh floral.
Being aware of the limited market in Spain,I decided to leave aside prejudices, go girly and try on some "hidden gems" created specifisally for women that, on a male skin, they just smell delightful.

He Wood Rocky Mountain. Dsquared2.

Perfumer: Daphe Bugey.
Notes: coriander, aniseed, violet, lily, white pepper, incense, mineral amber, musk, vetiver, virginian cedar.

I loved the abstract aquatic soul of the original "He wood".
This time, "He wood Rocky Mountain" reivents a floral fragrance for men.
Stunning.

"He Wood Rocky Mountain" is a natural spectacle of rare purity.
As its predecesor, it opens with a clean, transparent quality but sharing a similar soul with "KenzoAir": clean airy aniseed.

Woods take pressence; a stunning blend of cedar, aniseed and lilly flower, with touches of violet, incense, some vetiver and a mineral ambery splash.

A outstanding aromatic memory as an essence.

I loved it from the very first whiff. It just smells sexy.
Despiste of the mainly violet-lily accents, is a completely masculine scent that will soon be finding its way into your collection.
You simply can't ignore this scent after you've smelled it once. It's very addictive.
A work of art and class.
Another of my favourite launches of this year.

He Wood. Dsquared2

Perfumer. Daphne Busey:

Perfumer. Daphne Busey:

Countains: ozone, white fir, vegetal amber, musk, aquatic notes, violet blossoms and leves, vetiver and cedarwwod.

I fell inlove straight away when first sniffed, but, ey!, there was something about it that reminded me other well known juice straight away, so I decided to experiment and wait for reactions.
I made sniff my neck to every single friend of mine.
Conclusion: They thought it was KenzoAir with an aquatic nuance, just like me. I was not they only one though.

Both colognes share vetiver and cedar. I'm a fan of KenzoAir, but I have to admit this a way better cologne in my opinion.

He wood is a minimal fragrance: a dreamscape of a light scent of a forest breeze near a lake.
It provides a new step on “wood” accords— it's smooth, bleached woods floating on sweet, cool, lightly flower-scented water.

Starts kind of aquatic and ozonic, definitively synthetic but pure, just like a whisper, but with presence. So many people has remarked that the initial burst is alcohol like, but to my nose is like watery fresh clean cut light wood, a similar smell of a paper manifactured factory with a liquid quality..
The fir here it's no very evident, but, in a few minutes the perfume gets personality and body, I smell violet leaf, a beautiful violet flower note, mild vetiver and water notes that blends beautifully with the vetiver and cedar. There's altrough a nice ambient of forest and the previous watery soft accord remains gorgeous in the background.

It develops gorgeous and heady above yourself. It doesn't project grandly, but it's enough noticiable.

This is a dream of perfume, it's just the same atmosphere as KenzoAir without the aniseed.
It's funny how completely opposite essences can share close similarities.
He Wood is an alive dream, the scent of how a fairy forest would smell like. A new solution for those that like light woody fragrances with a different touch.
The longevity is average. No more than 4 hours.
