Men florals for this summer.

I have already recommended to you some female perfumes that would work nicely on a man.
Now it is time for the actual masculine/ unisex florals suitable for summer time.

He Wood by DSQUARED².
An addictive aquatic-floral-woody fragrance.
Notes of white fir, ozonic accord, vegetal amber, musk, aquatic notes, violet blossoms and leves, vetiver and cedarwwod.

Lily by Comme des Garçons.
Adorable unisex floral. Bad long lasting though.
Countains lily of the valley, freesia, green syringa (lilac tree leaves)and dog rose buds.

Splash Rain by Marc Jacobs.
It is an unisex light floral woody musk fragrance.
Notes of clementine, cypress, wild strawberry, sunflower, passion flower, orchid, teak wood, amber, musk and oakmoss.

Story by Paul Smith.
An intense green floral perfume.
Notes of grapefruit, bergamot, green ivy, jasmine, green rose, musks, vetiver, mineral amber and cedarwood.

L'eau Bleue Fraiche by Issey Miyake.
An aquatic-floral-musky airy fragrance.

Kenzo Power Cologne by Kenzo.
A gorgeous citrusy-balsamic-floral perfume.
Include notes of bergamot, amalfi lemon, cardamom, lemon verbena, freesia, sichuan pepper, coriander, tolu balm, geranium, cedar and vetiver.

Guerrilla 2 by Comme des Garçons.
An intense spicy-floral.
Countains notes of bergamot, pink pepper, ginger, red chili pepper, curcuma (turmeric root), raspberry, tuberose, vetiver, cedar and musk.

Paul Smith Man by Paul Smith.
A fresher version of "Dior Homme".
It has yuzu, bergamot, anise blossom, incense, patchouli, cardamom, Iris, Violet, Tonka Bean.

L'eau D'Issey Summer 2010.
A reinterpretation of the original D'issey with soft ambery floral undertones.
Notes of mandarin, yuzu, sage flower, cardamom, vetiver and amber.

Adventure Quasar by Jesús del Pozo.
A fantastic aromatic chyphre.

Zen for men by Sisheido.
A great fruity floral scent.
Notes of kumquat, bergamot, kinkan, violet, nashi pear, rhododendron, nutmeg, leather, patchouli, agarwood and musk.

London by Burberry.
A beutifuly done spicy floral.
Countains violet leaf, lavender, bergamot and black pepper, mimosa, Port wine accord, leather, opoponax, tobacco leaf, guaiac wood and oakmoss.

Brit for men. Burberry.

Perfumer: Antonie Maisondieu
Notes of mandarin, bergamot, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, wild rose, gray amber, Tonka bean, cedar and patchouli.

Another dissapoining attempt of a floral for the man. To my nose, the overall effect is a woody baby powder.

-This is the the oddest scent from the British line so far-. This is exactly what I thought when I sprayed today "Brit" on my wrist and I kept sniffing it for a couple of hours.

"Brit" opens loud with a overpowering top notes that melt together becoming rather generic and synthetic .

Just be patiente and then, this perfume will develop into something much more pleasant and complex.
In fact the real soul of the whole juice remains in its heart notes with a delightful mix of nutmeg, rose, soft woods and tonka bean.

Unfortunately, the fragrance quickly changes and develops really sweet, and (argh) something powdery with soft cedar and a whisper or rose in the background.

It is a real fiasco.
This is very unisex leaning on the feminine side.
I am sure a lot of girls would like it more than men.
So, at the end of the day, who would enjoy wearing this?
I can only picture skinny, gaunt, effeminate, androgynous guys enjoying this cologne.
Longevity is average. It develops subtle.

Burberry Sport for men & women. Burberry.

Burberry launchs "Burberry Sport fragrances".
"Burberry Sport for Men" is an aquatic fruity woody.
Perfumers: Sonia Constant, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu.

Includes frozen ginger, grapefruit, wheatgrass, marine breeze accord, red ginger, juniper berry, dry amber, cedar and soft musk.

The perfume opens invigorating, loads of sweet synthetic gratefruit followed to an ozonic, aquatic touch.
Then, orangy notes, vivid ginger and juniper-like undertone.

The company describes it as a aquatic-marine-ginger fragrance, but I personally don't detect salt, maritime sea breeze or something similar.
In fact, "Burberry Sport" shares huge similarities with "Clinique Happy for men" or "Mandarina Duck for men" regarding the zesty citrus notes, and it is a photocopy of "Dior Homme Sport" when we talk about ginger.

It ends soft and musky.
That is it. No much more expectations here.
Don't get me wrong. It has a nice, fresh character but it won't stand out of many other orange-grapefruit-ginger aquatic perfumes in the market.
The longevity is excellent and the projection is massive.
Apply with caution.


"Burberry Sport for Women" is a aquatic- fresh salty-floral.

Perfumers: Olivier Polge and Béatrice Piquet.

Includes notes of mandarin, sea salt, magnolia, honeysuckle, red ginger, petit grain, solar notes, musk and cedar.

I like it. A gorgeous scent.
Light and sweetly fresh.

It open fresh-light and sweet with citrus, and then inmediately develops into a smell-like "something familiar", but I can't quite put my finger on it.
The salty note is present but a different perspective. It gives a modern twist to the whole formula.

I can detect the magnolia and a heady fresh honeysuckle. The blend recreates an aquatic-salty imaginary flower.

The perfume develops sweet, more ozonic and less aquatic, very musky but light in a nice way, while the petit grain and a light ginger reign above all.
I think those who enjoy "Cool Water" or "Tommy Girl" style fragrances would enjoy this.
And lasts long, very long!.

Overall "Burberry Sport Men & Women" won't particularly bring nothing new or unusual in the market, but I'm sure they will become a good casual popular weekend fragrance, specially for the young crowd.
