Bois d'Iris. Van Cleef & Arpels.

Perfumer: Emilie Copperman.

Notes of myrhh, iris, labdanum, driftwood, ambergris, vetiver, frankincense, vanilla and amber.

"Bois d’Iris" is one of two unisex fragrances from the Van Cleef's "Collection extraordinaire" being the other Cologne Noire.

This is without the shadow of the doubt a must try for iris fans.
Bois d’Iris would bring along the scent of wood from a totally different unexpected angle as it tries to replicate the scent of driftwood on the seashore.

It is an atypical and charming blend of woods with a vibrant, salty ambergris and iris. There's not the same "Dior Homme's" oversweet lipstick iris in here.
You will get an elegant podwery Iris note, (and I can't believe I am writting this as a formal hater of the Iris note).

It is a salty woody iris perfume.

"Dois D'Iris" starts as a citrus-like scent plus sweet-peppery iris. Nice, intoxicating, slightly hypnotic and with a lovely spicy quality.

It develops sweeter and vanillic but not overly sweet with a dry, smoky wood accent.

The dry down is powdery, but not massively feminine.
The amber melts with the salty ambergris but the main notes remaining in the juice are a glorious smoky driftwood and iris still.

Soft and even velvety, "Bois d'Iris" has a special character and is an intimate scent. Even it has a remarkable feminine floral character, It doesn’t mean men wouldn’t be able to wear it.
Be prepare to pay a large ammount of money. It's awfully expensive.
