Cedar, cedar and more cedar with hints of intense incense and shy violet.Strong, remarkable, hypnotic. It starts with an obvious note of juniper, a touch of hay and after a moment or two one can only detect bold cedar wood, and a mass of incense. It's dark and rich but not overloaded: in my nose, it is harmoniously aggressive on first spray. An hour after applying, the whole formula gets less noticeable and in it’s former stead, appears a gorgeous violet leaf note, a velvety one that gives an interesting twist to the perfume. This remains hand in hand with the cedarwood and prominent incense, while the juniper increases at this precise moment, enveloping all to produce a soft, coniferous ensemble.Even then the perfume is much more linear than one might expect after this description, with hints of this and whispers of that, but not enough to be noticeable by the average nose. The drydown is fantastic, based on rich sandalwood. It shares similarities with Comme des garçon's Kyoto or Tam Dao by Dyptique but is not as dry, and a little sweeter. In other websites, this one has been marked as "nothing special", "mainstream", etc... I don't really think so. It has its own strong personality in my opinion: exudes originality, as the others, but of the tree range, this is my favourite, and for sure, there's a certain something going on with this juice as it took almost me three weeks to make such a short, bold review, with some descriptions. It's one of those perfumes that you keep smelling and trying to figure out, but you get frustrated in all attempts, as no one result could be shown. It's very easy to wear; classy, with attitude. If you’d like to smell like an intoxicating incense aroma in an ancient temple, give a nice present this Xmas combining the “nice” with the “exotic”, Tumulte will be the best choice.
