Perfumer: Olivier Cresp.
Countains sweet lime, maté, cardamom, cinammon, nutmeg, carnation, green pepper, ambrette, amber, sandalwood, guaiac wood, benzoin, vetiver & cedar.
Kenzo has created with this fragante a new concept: The first ever Citric/Oriental perfume.
Outstanding. As good and controversial as the classic "Kenzo pour Homme".
I feel nostalgic about this perfume.
Apparently discontinnued. What a pity.
"Jungle" is a piece of art. Indomit, subtle yet powerful, distinctive. Love it immensely despite I hate orientals generally.
The perfume is based in nutmeg & cedar notes with a long lasting blast of bitter sweet icy lime.
A real masterpiece.
Top notes. Gorgeous: cold zesty balanced with warm green accords.
The sweet lime gives a wonderfully clean uplifting soul to the warm-grassy maté,that embraces all the opening.
Such an unusual opening, a juxtapose of spices, bitter citrus, a soft sweet accord of cinammom mixed grandly with the maté & cardamom, but then, the nutmeg comes along, recreating an unusual yet perfect character.
The nutmeg on the heart of the juice, appears mainly as the main note, surrounded of lime, carnation and cinammom.
I can see why some peoples dislike the combination of citrus-aromatics-nutmeg-incense recreating an imposible thrill, a unreal note.
In one point when tha carnation shows presence, the scent brings a ghostly olfative image of coconut, but a sweet sour one if you know what I mean, (only a very soft undernote really).
I love here the nutmeg: rich and addictive.
It dominates for a long time till the woods from the basenotes start to raise...
In the drydown, the cedar and guaiac are so dry, smoky & aromatic that they seemed to be an incense-note-like.
"Jungle" peaces as an smoky aromatic cedar fragrance with a nutmeg undertone.
"Jungle" is unique and intriguing strong fragrance.
I love it. Specially in winter nights, it has a naughty-camp-like factor that I don't mind at all but gives "mucho juego".
It projects massively. It has excellent longevity being detected after 6-7 after applied.
Its projects nicely, leaving behind you a nice trace,as normally people will stop you on the street or in a bar, to ask you what are you wearing.
