Kenzo re-invents the original gorgeous L’eau par Kenzo both men and women, in a new “limited edition” launch facing the upcoming spring-summer.
Same bottled, though. Easily mistaken for the original one.
L’eau par kenzo ICE Men
Perfumer: Jacques Cavallier.
Notes: lime, mandarin, mint, cardamom, nutmeg, clove, benzoin and vetiver.
This time, L’eau par Kenzo Ice, loose the original aquatic character from its old brother, and becomes more fruit-aromatic.
Where companies decide to launch “intense” or suitable- for- night scents, Kenzo, bets for a line of soft, simple, minimal yet modern and refreshing perfumes (see also the l’eaux de fleur range), although it is expected too an intense version soon.
There’s not much to say about this perfume. Just simply superb.
It starts radiantly fresh and uplifting with tons of mandarin peel, a hint of shy mint, developing quickly into something more earthy and, again, the gorgeous note of the vetiver, well know in scents from the company as “Air” brings a new dimension of freshness.
The perfume dries down soft but with the brilliant vetiver and a juicy touch of mandarine.
The scent is quiet, easily tagged as mainstream, even nothing really special for some people… But just like in “Air”, the simplicity of the formula becomes the main success.
Simple, gorgeous, not on “your face” yet detected for hours and hours.
Highly recommend for freshness lovers.
Simply delightful.
L’eau par Kenzo ICE women.
Perfumer: Illas Ermenidis.
Notes of lemon, ginger, mint, freesia, nasturtium, fig blossom, vetiver, ambrette, vanilla.
The concept becomes more citrusy flowery and again, lacks of the aquatic character of its classic version.
It opens zesty-minty fresh with the delightful dewy freesia (a gorgeous heady scent) surrounded by a shy ginger.
At this stage, I am reminded of the fruity accord of “Tokyo” without the peppery accords yet floral accents.
I like it. A lot.
The freesia vanish rapidly and gives path to the nasturtium, that when blending with the mint transforms it into a peppermint note quite appealing in the perfume, as a vivid deja-vú of wet cut grass.
Interesting.
The juice develops a little more dryer and slightly peppery with the gorgeous nasturtium that reigns on top of fig blossom and minth.
The intrusion in the drydown of a soft touch of vanilla and the vetiver brings us a wll blended formula. Instant fav!.
Not overly feminine as its predecesor I really enjoyed it immensely.
Simply appealing.
Again, Kenzo brings shine and a draw of fresh air to our daily life; a little piece of heaven and nature, where all remains grey, polluted and urban.
Bravo!!!.
